Lithium carbonate sedimentation using flocculants with different ionic bases

چکیده

Lithium has become a metal of enormous interest worldwide. The extensive use recharge-able batteries for range applications pushed rapid growth in demand lithium carbonate. This compound is produced by crystallization, reaction with chloride (in solution) and adding sodium Low sedimentation rates the evaporation pools present problem crystallization process. For this reason, work, mineral sedimen-tation tests were carried out two flocculant types different ionic charges. at laboratory level using dosages each measurements performed to obtain increase content solids sediment. anionic had better performance as compared that cationic flocculant, increasing rate carbonate up 6.5. However, similar contents obtained 3.5 times lower dosage making it choice regarding economic point view.
